About Me

I am a recovering elementary school teacher who has been lucky enough to escape the classroom the last four years as I’ve followed my husband in his overseas job postings. With his encouragement, I’ve decided to seize the opportunity of not working full-time to explore the field of writing. Becoming an author is a long-buried childhood dream, and I fear if I don’t take advantage of this bit of down-time to excavate it now, it’ll be lost forever.

Good for you for committing to blogging for 365 days. Amazing. I have just finished the April A to Z Challenge which involved 26 posts in April. Now I am midway through Blog Every Day in May. I enjoy these challenges because they get me writing more and interacting more with other writers. It is fascinating to meet so many good writers and interesting people.
Where are you posted? I worked in Hong Kong for seven years at Hong Kong Internationals School and loved it.

Yes, the challenges are good for me, too. I especially like the A to Z because it had a structure but it was not rigidly defined. Any blogger from any genre could make it work. I like a creative challenge, but I don’t want to be too restrained.
We are currently stationed in England, and were in Japan three years before that. I’ve loved every second of living overseas, and will be sad when my husband’s assignment ends and we return to the States this summer. He says if I want to continue living overseas, we’ll have to go because of my job next time. 🙂

So you decided to join the small clan of Uncle Spike followers, sometimes known as The Spikey’s…. That makes me a happy blogger now – I really appreciate you making that special mouse click.

Hope you like my upcoming posts and if you get bored one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too.

If you have any likes, dislikes or suggestions about my blog, just let me know, either through ‘comments’ or via email. Always welcome reader input 🙂

By the way, you can relax, you are follower 667 and not 666 😀

    Have a great old day…

Whew, so glad that I spent so much time trawling through your old posts…and veering off to Cousin Spike JNR’s blog…before clicking the follow button. I’m not sure I could have handled being follower 666. I probably would have unfollowed and come back the next day to try again! 🙂 Looking forward to my future as a Spikey.

Hehe, no probs, you are well clear of that number now. Unless of course 20 or so ‘disappear’, lol.

So glad you enjoy what you’ve seen son far 😀

Yes – I wrote an email letter to our vets who work so hard. I end up paying them money for the visits with no formal thanks. It felt good and I was able to take my time and give the doctors specifics on why they are so important to us – felt good! Thanks for your post!
